Sponsoring a child can be a rewarding experience – both for you & the child.
Orphaned and vulnerable children often endure hard- ships and indignities. For many of these children necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter are unaffordable luxuries.
SUPPORT A CHILD
Individual child sponsorship starts with a minimum monthly funding commitments of only Rwf 3,600 per month.
Donations include food items, personal hygiene materials, clothes, shoes, matrasses, bedsheets, towels, getting help paying water and electricity bills of their home.
SUPPORT YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAMS
Provide internship or training that are sensitive to market demand
Fund or connect youth to entrepreneurship programs.
Partner to provide market-oriented courses.
TRANSFORM THE LIFE OF A VULNERABLE FAMILY IN THE COMMUNITY
Support a saving and loan association with incentives to facilitate income generating activities of vulnerable families.
Support an ECD center with porridge, play materials, chairs, tables.
Support vulnerable families to get community-based insurance (mutuelle de sante).
Support vulnerable families with iron sheets for their houses or toilets.
Support vulnerable families with school fees for their children.
Advocate to register children for birth registration. Support vulnerable families with food items.
TRANSFORM INFRASTRUCTURES WITH CONSTRUCTION WORKS
Support with construction of Early Childhood Development Centers (ECD).
Some of the SOS facilities have developed structural malfunctions resulting to unsustainable costs of repair and maintenance and hence threatening the quality care provided to children and youth.
