Alice Malaika Neumann

Alice Malaika Neumann is the Head of Fund Development and Communication at SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda since Oct 1, 2020.

Alice has over 16 years of experience in communication and fund development.

She worked as the Head of Communication and Customer care at the National Water and Electricity Utility (Electrogaz) where she oversaw all communication related activities of the utility, led corporate social responsibility business operations and interactions to expand and deepen collaboration with business partners and organized customer meetings to inform on services (2005 to 2010).

From 2010 to 2015, she worked for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US Embassy Rwanda, where she was in charge of providing support to the development of the yearly PEPFAR country operational plan aligned to government’s priorities aimed at providing strategic direction to its implementing partners and the Ministry of Health.

Prior to joining SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda, Alice worked for Global Communities Rwanda, a USAID PEPFAR funded Orphan and Vulnerable Children project supporting 50,000 vulnerable households across 12 districts through 6 subgrantees (2015-2020) as the Communication and Outreach Manager.

Prior to work in the field of communication and fund development, she worked as a registered Nurse on an intensive care unit at the St Augustinerinnen Hospital (Cologne) and in palliative care.

Alice Malaika Neumann holds a MA in Sustainable Development Cooperation (University of Technology, Kaiserslautern), BA Translation and Interpreting (University of Applied Sciences, Cologne), Registered Nurse Sr Blandine-Ridder (Cologne).

Alice is married and mother of three.
