Kigali Marriott Hotel General Manager, Rex A.G Nijhof has encouraged other partners to support SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda in order to fulfill its mission of caring for children who have lost parental care.

Rex made remarks during a charity walk “Road to awareness” organized by Kigali Marriott Hotel in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda to collect funds to support the educational needs and health insurance of children living in SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda.

He appreciated SOS Children Villages Rwanda for the great job they are doing in the country by caring children who have no one to care for them.
He said, the children are indeed the future of the nation and securing their education and health is a priority.

“Kigali Marriott has made it a culture of giving back to the community where we work and live. Since early in the beginning, the founders of the company knew that business and corporate social responsibility go hand in hand,” he said.

The Road to awareness campaign enabled people to give any kind of help, through buying the T-shirts costing Rwf 5,000, and providing any kind of help that is affordable for instance, money in-kind donation among others.
The SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda Program Director Serge Nyirinkwaya said that children deserve a good living, and this can only be possible if one by one come together as a team. “Through the little each person collects, if put together, it turns out into something big.” He said

Nyirinkwaya calls upon those who have more supports in form of clothes, foodstuff, and funds to provide or send it at the four SOS children’s Villages program location centers in Kacyiru, Nyamagabe, Gicumbi, and Kayonza.

He also encourages organizations, institutions to be part of the support by offering them internship training, scholarships that are beneficial to the needy children so that they are becoming professionals and be better people with better future.

This is the second time of “Road to Awareness” campaign. In 2018 Kigali Marriott Hotel donated to SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda Rwf 1,000,000 as a Christmas package.
