Message from the National Director
Dear Visitors,
Welcome to SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda website.
We understand that at the heart of human progress are children well prepared. SOS Children’s Villages takes action for children as an International non-governmental development organization and has been working in Rwanda since 1979.
With four Children’s Villages providing home based care to children who have lost parental care and those at risk of losing it, SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda has a robust team of core care co-workers (mothers and aunts) and programmes teams specialized in child care and protection, education, health, family strengthening and advocacy. SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda works to strengthen families by providing direct essential services and support for vulnerable children and caretakers.
In-line with the Federation’s 2030 Strategy, we will ensure that many more children have a loving home and an equal chance to succeed in life and lead the world’s most effective child care movement to make sure that “no child should grow up alone”. All children living in our villages will continue enjoying the benefits of living in loving families with care from mothers and aunts. We will strengthen our cooperation with others across our society in new ways to reach our common goals and continue supporting the Government of Rwanda’s efforts towards child care and protection.
It is on this ground that this website has been developed. We aim to communicate our processes, progress and success stories by unpacking our experiences, programmes and projects achievements, most of which can be provided on our website.
As your support and feedback is highly valued, please feel free to visit our website and share with us your insights and experiences moving forward towards child care and protection.
Thank you,

National Director
